CURRENT BDC LEADERBOARD POINT SYSTEM |
| TO ACHIEVE RIDER POINTS : |
| All riders must be financial BDC Members. Points apply to both Associate and Official Tests, from Preliminary through to Grand Prix. Tests outside this range are NOT included, viz Prep, Freestyle etc. |
| A rider must achieve 50% or higher for points. Only the TWO BEST results of any rider count. Regardless of the test level, the same points apply to each rider. |

| The number of Placings allotted are dependent upon the number of riders in the age groupings listed on the Draw for that test on the Competition day. For Official tests, placings are always to 6th |
| (where 6 or more riders compete). |
| For Associate tests, regardless of age grouping, the following applies :- |
| |
3 to 6 horses in a class on the Draw - Place 1st 2nd and 3rd ONLY |
| |
7 to 9 horses in a class on the Draw - Place 1st thru to 4th ONLY |
| |
10 or more horses in a class on the Draw - Place 1st thru to 6th inclusive |
| APPLYING POINTS TO JUNIOR AND YOUNG RIDER GROUPS |
| For Preliminary and Novice Associate tests, the above age groupings have separate competition numbers and are placed according to the above rules. For levels higher than Novice, |
| they compete openly with the Seniors for ribbons. |
| However, for Leaderboard points, they are allocated the points relative to their positions within their OWN age group. |

| The same ruling as for riders applies re the number of riders in a test on the Draw. The same method of allocating points for Junior and Young Riders applies to horses. |
| In Official tests, ponies have to be judges as a separate class. At this point BDC does not have sufficient Ponies competing to warrant a separate Pony Leaderboard. It is suggested |
| that the percentage achieved by a Pony in an Official test is used to identify its relevant placings and subsequent points. |
| In Associate tests, Ponies compete in Open competition with horses. |
