CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
COMPETITION DATE: SUNDAY, February 22, 2009

It is the responsibility of all competitors to be aware of the rules of this competition. It will be
held in accordance with the rules of the EFA and FEI. A copy of the EFA rules can be purchased
directly from the EFA or from the EFA website, www.efanational.com

  1. Competitors (riders) must be current members of the EFA or BDC Inc to compete.
  2. Closing date for entries: Wednesday, February 4, 2009. Entries numbers are limited, so entries will be logged as received. Telephone and faxed entries will not be accepted.
  3. Registered ponies may now compete in all Official classes. They must be registered with the EFA, have a current grading card and have proof of measurement being 149cm or less (with shoes). Riders of ponies must turn 10 in the calendar year of competition. Dressage Rule 1.12.4
  4. Scratchings will be accepted up to 9pm on the day entries close. No refund will be made after that date. A 50% refund will apply only if a doctor/vet certificate is dated and received by the Event Secretary prior to the event. No refund is made to DNAs.
  5. Please make cheques/money orders payable to BDC Inc. Do not send cash.
  6. Time requests from competitors should be noted on the entry form. We try to meet these requests when compiling the draw, but it is not always possible. Times cannot be changed on the day.
  7. A copy of the time draw will be sent to competitors who enclose a stamped, self-addressed business-sized envelope. The draw will be sent by email to those who provide an email address. It will also be posted on the BDC website, www.bowraldressage.com.
  8. Times will be strictly adhered to. Failure to report to the judge at the appointed time can mean elimination.
  9. All competitors must report to the Gear Steward no more than 15 minutes prior to each test.
  10. In all tests, the rider may be changed by notifying the Event Secretary. Horses cannot be
    changed.
  11. Callers are permitted at this competition.
  12. Competitors are limited to a maximum of three horses per event. Each rider can compete in no more than six tests. Each horse may compete in no more than three tests at two consecutive levels.
  13. Only horses entered in the event can be ridden on the grounds. Only riders who are entered in the competition and have completed a disclaimer can ride on the grounds.
  14. Warming up and lunging must be well away from the competition areas. Competitors must not ride in or around arenas in which tests are in progress. Spectators must stay at least 10m away from any arena. You may not warm up in the competition arenas or area.
  15. An approved safety helmet and long or short riding boots must be worn, including warming up. Riders should always be correctly attired (including gloves and coat) on presentation to the Gear Steward. Riders without an approved helmet will not be allowed to ride on the ground or compete.
  16. All protests must be submitted in writing to The Secretary within 30 minutes of the happening which gave rise to the protest. As per EFA rule 1.3, such written protests must be accompanied by a fee of $20 which will be refunded if the protest is upheld.
  17. Neither the organisers nor the owner of the property accepts any liability for any accident, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, spectators or any other person or property whatsoever.
  18. Dogs are not permitted on the grounds by order of the Bong Bong Picnic Race Club. Horses are not permitted on the race track.
